Vehicle Appraisal App

What we did

By working along with 3 co-workers, we developed from scratch a hybrid mobile app with a backend that systematizes the vehicle inspection and appraisal process of a governmental insurance company.

We used the Scrum to manage run this project.

What I did

  • Worked at every stage and area of this project.
  • Created around 25 RESTful and SOAP web services using Service Facade and JPA.
  • Designed and built one Oracle and one WebSQL Database.
  • Designed and implemented around  55 mobile and web views.

Tech Stack: Java, PhoneGap, AngularJS, Oracle, PHP, Bootstrap, CSS3, HTML5.

Completion Date: Aug/2015.

Mobile App

The user (a vehicle inspector) could take everywhere to perform an outdoor inspection avoiding the hassle of long written forms and pillars of papers to fill.

Back End App

Useful to review, modify and add new data from his office. After finishing his work, the app generates a ready to print and signed by his supervisor.

The following images represent the initial mockup of the original mobile app. The insurance company reserved the right to publish any other graphical content or code.

Mobile Dashboard

Users can easily manage appraisals and inspections, take a quick glance, filter and modify any field concerning the inspection.

Vehicle Damaged Parts

An SVG image on Illustrator allowed users to indicate which zones were damaged and its level of damage.

Vehicle Gallery

Users can take/delete pictures of the vehicle and add it to the corresponding inspection.

Backend - Vehicle Damaged Parts

Same functionalities as the mobile view plus the capability of adding comments.

Spare Parts Management

Manage the spare parts of the vehicle. Users can add, edit or delete any spare part information.
